AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA has sold AKAD University ("AKAD"), Germany's oldest state-recognized private distance learning university headquartered in Stuttgart,

for a purchase price of more than EUR 45m. The university was acquired in April 2014 from Franz Cornelsen Bildungsgruppe and reorganized since then. The acquirer, Galileo Global Education, is the largest private higher education group in Europe with approx. 170,000 students in 14 countries.
