A fund advised by Maxburg Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in Metoda GmbH. The founders of Metoda will continue to hold a substantial stake. The transaction is the 14th investment by Maxburg.
EGO HUMRICH WYEN advised, in cooperation with the Swiss law firm Kaiser Odermatt & Partner, the insolvency administrator of Econcern on the assertion of claims for damages against the insolvent Ecostream Switzerland amounting to approximately EUR 450 million.
Global Savings Group (GSG) acquired the French cashback provider iGraal from Groupe M6. The transaction involved a partial cash sale for € 35 million in addition to a share swap, as a result of which Groupe M6 will become the leading shareholder in GSG. The deal, valuing iGraal at € 123.5 million, is one of the most significant transactions in the industry in recent years. According to GSG, the merger will create one of the leading digital platforms in the savings, cashback and shopping content sectors in Europe.

MERKUR BANK KGaA will take over substantial parts of the banking business of Bank Schilling & Co Aktiengesellschaft. A corresponding framework agreement was signed on August 13, 2019. The acquisition is to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019. Upon consummation of the acquisition, MERKUR BANK will become one of the largest owner-managed banks in Germany, with total assets of more than EUR 2 billion.
